As I understand it, the DVD version is a step up from the CD version in sound quality and the inclusion of the "Journey Through The Past" movie as well as some other video material. The Blu-ray version is a step up from the DVD version in sound quality as well as the promise of additional downloadable material as it becomes available. Both the CD and Blu-ray versions have a one-time mp3 download feature of the audio material from the archive website.

From my point of view, the DVD version with the included video material was the way to go. The higher audio quality plus the video material made this version optimal for me (I can watch/listen in surround sound on my home theater). I don't own a Blu-ray player (yet) and couldn't see forking out another $100 to hear state-of-the-art, crystal-clear 60's recordings (how much resolution do we need for tape hiss?). If recent history is any indication, new Blu-ray only material will be reissued again at a later date anyway. And thanks to the convenient download, my iPod is fully loaded.

Your mileage... etc. etc.

> Would I still get the images you mention on a computer [didn't even think about that-I can play it on the computer-correct?] . Please excuse the dumb questions, but not much is clear from just looking at the sets on line. At the moment it is a major purchase.
