Subject: an audacious challenge :)
Hi everybody
I thought I'd try to get some fun discussion going by offering a challenge
to you all... and let's see if you can play by the rules. For the sake of
argument, let's say that I think that "No Dice" by Badfinger is the best
powerpop album of all time. So, I'm hoping that you folks can tell me that
there another, more recent "perfect" powerpop masterpiece out there and I'd
love for you to tell me what it is in your opinion. Here are the rules of my
challenge:
1. Your choice must have been released since 1990
2. You can only choose ONE album (CD)... we all KNOW that you will think
about this and immediately want to caveat your reply with things like "I
could have picked 5 so my choice is just one of those 5" or "it depends on
what day of the week you ask me because I'd give you a different answer
tomorrow" blah blah blah.... I am NOT looking for your list of top 10 or top
25 releases of all time, just one... :)
3. I ask that you keep your response to the following format.... Artist,
title of the CD, and if you want to give a short list of the merits of your
choice, that's cool too
Let's see if you can do it.... I would for one love to have a list of things
to listen to if you think they are that close to "perfection", whatever that
means
Have at it please!!!!! and let's have fun with this
thanks mucho
Mike
