OK, I'll bite...

PAUL STEEL - Moonrock
www.myspace.com/paulsteel
Just read the testimonials on the above page. Enuf said!

ROGER KLUG - More Help For Your Nerves
http://www.myspace.com/rogerklug
Shades of Roger Manning, Steve Eggers, Bleu, Mike Viola, etc.
It's all there!! Amazing, smart, uber-crafty pop.

TINTED WINDOWS - s/t
Power pop all stars!!

NINJA GUN - Restless Rubes
www.myspace.com/ninjagun
Sharp hooks, big, bombastic production.
Southern twang, Americana, power pop. It's all here!

THE BLUE SKY SECRET - What We Are (EP)
www.myspace.com/tbssmusic
Some of the craftiest, full-bodied, top shelf pop I've heard so far this
year...plus they're pals and collaborators with Will Owsley

CHRIS RICHARDS - Sad Sounds Of Summer
www.myspace.com/chrisrichardsandthesubtractions
The drop dead hook of opener "I Can't Quit Her" sets the stage for this fine
new release - chock full of supremely melodic pop, warm ringing guitars and
of course...killer choruses and harmonies. I've loved Chris Richards' stuff
since his "Pathetic History" comp from the 90s/early 00's.

HOT LEG - Red Light Fever
www.teamhotleg.com
I still miss The Darkness - but this is the next best thing!

YOUNG FRESH FELLOWS - I Think This Is
Power Pop heroes of the Pacific Northwest return - with their
first full-length release since 2001's split LP w/ the Minus 5

THE MINUS 5 - Killingsworth
It's primarily a stripped-down, honky tonk affair, notably devoid
of the driving, upbeat power pop of previous M5 albums.

WILCO (The Album)
Embodies everything that was great about the band's first three albums -
strong melodies, smart and broadly referenced arrangements, and non-trite
heartfelt lyrics. With the cloudy haze of his personal troubles starting to
clear, it's evident Tweedy has found his muse again and is perfectly content
to make a good rock record in lieu of some unlistenable art school project.

TELEKENISIS! - s/t
http://www.myspace.com/telekinesismusic
Led by drummer Benjamin Lerner.and produced by Death Cab's Chris Walla.
Uber-energetic indie pop.with lots of soft edges and hooks galore!
RIYL: Shins, New Pornographers, Nada Surf, Liam Finn

GREG POPE - Pete (EP)
www.gregpope.net
Like Steve Eggers, GP's hooks are immediate, in your face and undeniably
memorable.
Crafty song arrangements show his clear acumen for the spectrum of pop music

BOB MOULD - Life & Times
CHEAP STAR - Speaking Like an Elephant
SOUNDTRACK OF OUR LIVES - Communion
GREEN DAY - 21st Century Breakdown
THE VINES - Melodia
THE WEBSTIRS - So Long

It strikes me that we're just into July which means we could have a
'Best of Audities' for the first half of '09.

Might that stimulate some debate?
