I can only speak for myself. I try to post as often as I can. Time is a problem , and my poor typing hold me back. But I have learned a lot from just keeping up with the list and want that to continue. I don't care if anyone pounces on my taste[hasn't happened]. It isn't going to change it.
Rick, I actually got turned on to your wonderful music here. And my collection thanks you.And I for one would love to see your trade list. You can send it off line if you like. You never know when something you are looking for pops up on a list.
I personally think Myspace, twitter, and facebook are hurting lists like this. People devote a lot more time to them and less time here. I could be wrong.

> Ultimately, I can only speak for myself, but knowing the people on this list, I know I am going to get attacked for this anyway. Why is it that people don't post anymore? Part of it is that there isn't much new exciting power pop these days - disagree if you want, but I used to buy 4-5 new power pop CDs a month and now I maybe purchase 10 a year.

> But I think the main reason people don't post is that the people who listen to power pop obviously aren't into what is popular, meaning that to a certain extent that they don't care about what other people think. There are a lot of people on this list who think that they are right all the time, so a lot of the posts are about pissing contests, and I admit I have been drawn into a few of them myself. People can't even post their opinion about a new CD or artist without someone contradicting them. That creates an atmosphere where no one wants to say anything, and that's a shame because a few jerks are holding everyone back. I miss the days where Bennett, Borack and Brodeen (the b's of power pop on this list) used to post frequently, but something is keeping them from posting as well.

If I am known as the person who put CD trade lists on audities, that's fine I guess, but it has been over a year since I have posted a trade list and I think the joke has run its course. I guess there are people here who have nothing better to do. I still check this list once or twice a day, but there isn't much worth reading lately. Perhaps if a handful of people would bite their tongue, (or count to ten), more people would feel like posting. Am I alone here?
