I think I'm a little older than a lot of you guys (out of college 1973) so thinking back to that Vanity Fair hit "Hitching a Ride"... yes, it was a very cool song and I especially liked the harmonies and the tandem guitar figure that is so predominant... the question was about the type of hit this was, psychedelic or otherwise.... this came out at the paramount of "heavy FM" or "top 40 AM" radio... and it definitely fell in the AM category... perhaps there were some FM stations somewhere that played it, but I'm pretty sure it was put in the category of top 40 hit at the time
