Also, in the Cupid episode, Robert Harrison from Future Clouds and Radar was referred to as the "Elvis of artsy power pop." Robert also performed an acoustic version of Build Havana during a date scene. A snippet of a 2nd Austin band, The Service Industry, was played when 2 of the characters walked into a grocery store. I had to chuckle at the character's comment about The Service Industry being a much hyped power pop band from Austin. I've heard of them but haven't properly checked them out. Later in the episode, most of the song, Suffer Fools Gladly, by a 3rd Austin band, The Rite Flyers, was played. The executive producer, Rob Thomas (NOT the guy from Matchbox 20), has often featured bands that are friends of his from his Austin days. I believe that Rob used to be a musician in Austin in the late 80s/early 90s.
