I'll tell you something interesting.

I popped the cd in here at work for my first listen.  It's all pretty good, nice production, upbeat, all of that.  Then track 9, "Nothing to Me" really caught my ear.  Turns out it's the only track written by Taylor Hanson!

I read an interview with James Iha on Magnet.com and he mentions how the project really ended up being a showcase for Taylor, how they tried to work the songs around his vocal style and his range.  He's a really great pop vocalist and pulled it off live as well.  Of course, he's no Robin Zander, but it's not reallly that style.  On the other hand, since he didn't have a keyboard to hide behind, he did seem to affect a few classic Zander poses while doing his thing.  I found it rather charming.  I got a partial video of the Buzzcocks cover and have it on my Facebook page, If I get it on YouTube or something, I'll post the link.

For doubters, I think the entire cd really worth a listen.  I tried to find a site that was streaming it, but no luck so far.  MySpace only has two tracks.  I wouldn't count this cd out yet, though.

Pitchfork reviews it today. Hates it, which I am not surprised. But they like those  2 tracks as well, especially "Messing with my Head". They do make a real good point and say that the qualities that make the members special are not there at all. They mention Adam's humor for example.
I am staying away.
