I did not see this message until tonight, when we came back from
seeing Swedish alt-folkie The Tallest Man On Earth play a fine set at
the Brattle Theater in Harvard Square. As it happens, his opening act
was a new-to-me band called Red Cortez, who were excellent, and who
from their very first song reminded me very strongly of a slightly
harder-rocking Fleet Foxes minus the harmonies. They're from L.A.,
they used to be called Weather Underground, and I bought their CD.
