I can only see the Dusty comparison in the piled up blonde hair and a mood
she tries but fails to reach in her music, I certainly don't hear it in her
voice which I find too shrill/ squeeky for my taste. I'm in the UK and find
it hard to believe the level of recognition she has reached in the US. She
has been compared with Adele who released her record around the same time.
Haven't heard the whole thing but in terms of vocals she outshines Duffy
(she's also covered the Raconteurs to good effect).
As an aside, if you weren't aware, much of the Duffy record was produced by
Bernard Butler (ex Suede, McCalmont & Butler etc)
