Well, I'm about a 75% convert now to downloaded music (never thought I'd see the day...I have some theories as to why I'm okay with it now, but will save it for a different post.)
I can list a few things I got excited about. I just found out today that all the Destroyer cds are on Emusic, so I will be downloading them as the months pass.
I was OBSESSED completely with What Made Milwaukee Famous for about 3 weeks. I still like the two records, but not in that total immersion way I was for a while there.
For Swedish music, I have really enjoyed Mattias Alkberg BD. Not power pop, and sung in swedish, but I am really digging it. Reminds me a bit of The Thermals for some reason.
The Hidden Cameras, finally getting into them. Interesting, somewhat lilting folky pop with an edge and, um, "controversial" lyrics. Homophobes need not apply.
My BIG fave, though, is Jukebox The Ghost. Sure, Ben Folds Five-y (they are even opening for Ben on his upcoming tour) but just quirky enough to be different. Very enjoyable.
Just got the AC Newman, have no doubt it will be great. Got Jens Lekman, finally, and do NOT like it at all. SNORE.
Finally, have caught up on all the Belle and Sebastian eps and releases, all good, as expected.
