I saw that we were discussing Explorer's Club,
FYI, I wrote something a while back on Crawdaddy.com with Jason Brewer, who
is their "Brian".
I compare their Beach Boys thing to Klaatu's Beatle thing.

I think they have been discussed. Their album was one of the few new
records I really dug. It's not Very Wilson-esque, it's a full blown
Beach Boys pastiche. The trick is to figure out where the different bits
come from. I'd mark them down for this pretty blatant theft, except they
do it so well. I only heard about them because someone emailed me when
they were stranded in eastern Montana, after hitting a deer. I'd never
heard of them, but once I heard them, I was a fan.
One interview I read suggested they are looking to do something
different for their next album. I'd guess they'd have to. Great singers,
and musicians... can't wait to hear what they can do with out the Beach
Boys filter on.
