Nah, Benedict's true iconic role was as the starchy reverend who, with
the aid of a U.S. cavalry troop, induces Robert Redford to violate the
Crow burial ground in *Jeremiah Johnson*.
Paul Benedict: The greatest acromegalic actor since Rondo Hatton. And he
wasn't British, either.
