I know people say this all the time, but...this really is the best-of to
get. Two discs, one with singles, the other with album tracks, live
versions, B-sides, and rarities. First time ever that I've looked at a
Smiths compilation and thought, "Man, I already have everything...and yet I
STILL kinda want to get this." Unfortunately, I don't have much of an ear
for remastering, so I can only speak to the content, not the sound quality.

Subject: Yet another Smiths release

I just saw that there is another Smiths anthology "Sound of the Smiths"
available for sale. My first impression was to comment that what the world
doesn't need is yet another repackaging of their catalog. While I am pretty
confident that I will stick to that and walk away, I have read that all of
the tracks on this new release have been remastered and that both Morrissey
and Johnny Marr were involved in the project. Has anyone heard any of these
remastered songs, and if so, are they that much better than the originals?

Thanks,
Mark
