Maybe I'm more parsimonious than some, but I'd imagine that most eMusic
subscribers have done this before: you see a new album on the site and start
hitting the "Listen" button for each individual track, liking it,
downloading that song and moving down the track list. Before you know it,
you're on the seventh track of a ten-track album and you realize you could
have saved a lot of time by hitting the "Download Album" button because the
whole thing is great.
JIGSAW DAYS is one of those albums. The quality of Shelton's music has been
on a straight-line upward track since the Spinning Jennies days, and this
new one continues and expands upon that run. A late-year contender for my
2008 Top Ten list. Whether it's eMusic or hard copy, go for it.
