I started with Close To the Edge...I think I was drawn to it becuase I had never heard anything like that before. I was in jr high when i first came across it. It was the summer in which my family and I moved from Wash DC to San Diego, CA. Up until then I was a music fan but it was mostly just listening to FM and AM radio. So, I knew all the pop singles from back then but had never really heard anything quite like Yes.

I continued to buy up what I could..I eventually ended up with everything from The Yes Album until Tormato. I had never really heard the first two Yes LPs until much later..

around 79 and 80 I got deeply involved in reggae and did not go back to YES until I started buying up the reissues and various box sets that came out (i.e., 35th Anniv). ..

In any event, it has been fun to go back and listen to these albums. I must tell you, listening to Close to the Edge or Tales from Topo on my ipod while i walk, ride the bus, or ride the subway in Buenos Aires is a whole other experience..it is certainly different from me sitting in front of my stereo with my headphones on staring at the album cover when i was 14..
