Yes are one of the few Prog bands that live in my collection (Yes, ELP, Tull and Gentle Giant and that's about it.) The first two albums are unique in their catalog... I didn't like them for the longest time, but actually now that I've been dipping into Baroque pop, Chamber pop, Sunshine Pop they make perfect sense.... Actually according to the band themselves the Beach Boys and the 5th Dimension were a big influence vocally on those first two albums..... Peter Banks was a more "crunchy" Pete Townsend sounding guitarist than Howe ever was... and Tony Kaye was a more "pop" organist early on...

The first two albums are quite good, just take a bit of getting used to if you're more familiar with the Roger Dean - Yes.
