I remember listening to the Pink Spiders' last CD and thinking that it was ok, but nothing special. I recently got that disc out again to see if I was wrong, because their newest album "Sweat It Out" is fantastic. My memory was correct. Their previous disc was still a little unformed, but boy have they matured into a great band on this latest disc.
If you liked Tsar's first album, or Jellyfish, or Fountains of Wayne, or Sugarbomb, or any bands similar to those listed, you're going to find something you like on this album. I've been listening to this pretty much non-stop since downloading it from eMusic, and there aren't any tracks that I skip over. The first three tracks are each different from each other, yet wonderful in their own way. At the same time, it's clear that it's a single band's vision coming through in the music. In a righteous world, "Gimme Gimme Chemicals" would be a huge hit already.
Unless the last few months are some of the best months for music ever, this is going to be in my top five for the year, if not at the top.
