I think the first 3 tracks are very strong, as is "Daddy's Gone". Bob, your description of them is spot on.

Other new stuff I've been enjoying:

David Byrne / Brian Eno - Not as experimental as some of their collaborations, but plays to their strengths. A really strong album and Byrne's vocals sound warmer than ever. Available for download from their website. CD is out in October I think.

The Week That Was - Peter Brewis from Field Music. Great songs and some big fat drum sounds, almost Kate Bush-esque in parts. I prefer this to the 2 Field Music albums, and fans of early-ish XTC should enjoy.

The Stills - 3 albums in and a different sound to every one of them. This sounds the closest they've come to actually finding a sound of their own and they have come up with some strong tunes. Available at e-music so check out the song clips.

Mike.
