I've got free time on my hands, and you know idle hands are the devil's
plaything... It seemed like a good time to deal with the vinyl overflow.
I know this has been coming, but when I tried to file all the records
piled up of the floor the other day, it was clear, the time was now.
Culling the library and storing stuff in the cupboards isn't even an
option anymore. I live in Montana, so modern solutions from Ikea are not
available to me. Storage in our little bungalow is always a problem, and
every little bit is a small victory in the unending battle.
Storage for my albums is some vintage wooden crates, the original 16
were bought from The Record Factory, when I worked there in the 70's.
They used them in the warehouse, and were happy to sell me a few. I
could never convince them to put our logo on them and sell in the
stores. This is a whole 'nother matter, I don't want to get into right
now. Over the years I've build 12 more. It's been a while, and I thought
I was set for the duration.
Rather than go into all the details here, you can read about my efforts
over on the Career Records site:

To make it more interesting, and maybe to inspire you to take up the
hammer and saw, I've done up a photo gallery. I took some pix of the
day's work, and a few of the rare records, as I moved everything around.
And while you are there, you can listen to a radio interview I did with
Jason Lytle last week. He talks about his first post-Grandaddy release
and other side projects....
