Great interview Will. Fantastic job. His new album is really good and we've been spinning a number of songs off of "Venus In Overdrive" - not just "What's Victoria's Secret?" We had already been playing Eytan Mirsky's song "I Know Victoria's Secret" for a while and although the subject matter of the lyrics is quite different, we didn't want to confuse the audience. *lol
We've had Rick on the radio show in the past and at work we've got the feeling that the record label is not really 100 percent behind his new album. It's been over a month of trying to contact the label and there has been absolutely no interest in Rick getting radio airplay or doing any sort of publicity to promote the album (Kudos again to Will Harris for getting an interview). This is just a guess on my part but it may be that Rick made the album on his own and that Universal is strictly a distribution pipeline for the project (no promotion whatsoever - that is left up to the artist). A number of recent acts distributed by the label have the same deal.
Again...I highly recommend the album. It's filled with good songs. They don't sound at all like the first track "What's Victoria's Secret?" but that song is the perfect way to kick off the album. :=)
