You could also take the 1 Bus the whole way instead of transferring from the cable car. That would save you the $5 one-way cable car fare.
According to the public transit trip planner, your fastest route is the 2 Bus, which runs on Sutter, one block down from your hotel:

The last 2 Bus on Saturday leaves the corner of Sutter St & Stockton St at about 7:30pm. So you'd have to take something else back to your hotel.
If you drive, keep in mind that street parking on or near Clement St on a Saturday night is challenging, to say the least.

From the Astoriait's almost a straight shot west 3.5 miles. The California St cable carwill take you ~halfway there - to Van Ness - a scenic & uncrowded rideyou can catch 2 blocks from your hotel.
