Curiously, I just got the cd, and we listened to it as we drove out of
Boulder, on our way back to Montana today (Sunday). I had got a message
the band was stranded in Forsyth, in Eastern MT. We were out that way a
couple of weeks ago. A train had just fallen into the Yellowstone River!
Not a place I'd want to be stuck. Not the worst town, and there is
probably a great bar there, but it's so far away from anything like a
city, that I'd be concerned.

Donovan's Brain had our own deer encounter in Idaho, on the way home
from playing Terrastock Seattle. Surreal.

Their album is great is a weird "I know where they stole that bit from"
sort of way. But they do it so well, I can forgive them for the blatant
lift.

Compared to a few other talked about releases, this one is my favorite
of the month.

We did a load of record/music shopping on Saturday in Denver and
Boulder. One of the finds was the Beach Boys day by day book. I read a
big chunk on the drive...

I'll be spinning as much of the new finds on my show this Friday,
including the Explorers Club....

Classic "musicians tour on the road" story. If anyone wants to check out The Explorers Club when they did our radio show a couple of years ago along with Dave Stephens who is playing this Saturday night at IPO in Los Angeles:
