OK, maybe it's not THE summer single, my I think my favorite single of
the year is "One of Us," the lead track on the new Wire CD (out today).
Driving, melodic, and catchy as hell.

No, if you want a summer single for 2008, I'm getting fully behind
Little Jackie's "The World Should Revolve Around Me" (the whole album
is fantastic, actually) or Estelle's "American Boy."
