I am so incredibly saddened right now.
I gasped aloud as I read Anthony's words.
Gary goes back to the very beginnings of my work with Not Lame in 1995. His
and Anthony's passions running along side my own as we started our
enterprises purely on our love for 'power pop' and connecting w/ other
people. The mission was simple. That was it.
I had kept in touch w/ him more frequently the last few years --- until a
year ago when he had the stroke, which was new news to me just now and when
I lost touch with him and he with me - so that explains. the insanity of
busy lives, work and the struggle that is part 'n parcel w/ the music biz
the last 4 years, it fell to the wayside with keeping up once again. Sigh.
I wish had known what was up so I could reached out and connected to
encourage and just express thanks for just being himself w/ his work w/
Audities. It's life so many times. Perspective, come alongside and
'friend up'.
The work of Audities was a short period - a few years but for those
connected to this 'scene' during the years of 1996-1998, when Audities was
running and its work connecting, Gary's genuine passions were inspirational
and influential seeds in the growing of connecting many, many hundreds of
people to this music.

Mike suggested Big Star and Raspberries making a rotation to honor him. For
me, it will be Artful Dodger. He had some primo live stuff before the band
started posting it on their site a few years ago and which brought huge
streams of joy to my life upon hearing it........a some Fools Face, too.
Thank YOU, Gary for letting your star shine into my own passions.....
