Man, good luck with that Supergrass. I've followed the
band since the first album and 'Diamond Hoo Haa' left
me absolutely cold. Hope it sells well enough to
sustain them for another round just so I can see if
it's worthwhile.

Can't believe I'm defending Coldplay over Supergrass
but IMHO, they made a stronger record this time out.

Need to spend more time with the new Costello, but
it'll certainly rank well at year's end. Same with
Pugwash - not as amazing as the last release but a
real solid album nonetheless.

Saw Lucinda Williams at the Englert Theater in Iowa
City last night - awesome show. Debuted a few new cuts
from her upcoming album ('Little Rock Star' and the
amazing 'Heaven Blues'), sprinkled in with classic
stuff from 'Car Wheels...' , 'Essence' and 'West' then
closed with a butt-kicking rendition of 'It's a Long
Way to the Top (if You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll) by AC-DC,
which she said may end up on the new one, but wasn't
sure.

I'd kinda lost interest in Lucinda over the past few
records but this show brought me back into the fold.
She's kickin' ass on the new stuff and she was visibly
excited to play the songs out live. Rolling Stone just
reported on the album featuring a duet with Elvis
Costello, but in addition to that, she said last night
that she was lucky enough to get Matthew Sweet and
Susana Hoffs to sing some backups too. That oughta
have some appeal here.
