I'll tell what I'll admit - the new Coldplay is a
pretty damn good record from start to finish and I'm a
few years beyond the thirtysomething classification,
so I don't see how that would apply to me liking it. I
know a few other people (also beyond that grouping)
that're responding well enough to 'Viva La Vida' that
have not been followers before.

Do yourself a favor, get over the music segregationist
mentality, enjoy the music out there for what it is
and support it if you like it.

And if your eyebrows need that kind of attention, wax
'em before you get curbfeelers that would make Leonid
Brezhnev proud to know ya.

Can't say anything about the Foxboro Hottubs record,
but I'll agree with the Weezer comments. I made a
Weezer mix of stuff from their catalog and that'll get
more attention from me than the Red Album. I'm not
buying another Weezer full-length out of the box.

Not so with Sam Phillips and her new one, 'Don't Say
Anything'. Wasn't sure what to expect without T-Bone
at the helm but the album carries forth her
established songwriting style with smartly inventive
production that would make Sam's ex-hubby proud. This
album and the Coldplay will easily make my Top 10 this
year.

Anybody want to chime in on early favorites at this
(hard to believe already) midpoint of 2008? C'mon,
let's talk about music!

Bill
