I now buy Supergrass records out of obligation. They always have a nice sound, but most of their songs aren't really about anything anymore. Gaz has a way with melodies that sound chipper but reveal a certain amount of melancholy. I find this inviting. But since it's rarely matched by lyrics that engage. It's a shame that the band's musical maturity has not been accompanied by some sort of message about anything.

I enjoy the arrangements, particularly the strings on "Roxy" that lead to a terrific guitar solo. Also get a kick out of "Coffee in the pot". Not a bad track on it. I seem to remember a great Mojo review on this one.
