You may be looking at the subject line and thinking "WHA??!!" Well, I had the "honor" of seeing Steve Priest's new version of Sweet in Agoura Hills, CA this past Friday. (They actually played the Whiskey a Go Go the night before, I bet that was a real rave up.)

including bio info of all the new band members. Andy Scott has a different version of Sweet touring the UK. Man, if Andy and Steve would do something together, it would really be something.
I have mixed feelings about the set I saw. I've never come close to seeing Sweet in any form, so it was a treat just to hear the songs live, even if it seemed more like a tribute act than really seeing Sweet. This was only their 3rd show ever, so I know it will only get better. This were a bit, um, rough at points, but I didn't mind seeing the dress rehearsal.
The harmonies were pulled off with just a little help from the keyboard samples, but it really did make it all sound better. Technology is good sometimes.
If they come near you, I'd say it's worth a look-see. Of course, this is assuming Steve doesn't kill the new singer before they even really get going. There were some awfully dirty looks going back and forth between them throughout the set. . .
