Hi Joe,

VERY interesting post, mostly because I did the exact OPPOSITE! I started
out as a pretty hardcore prog fan, and shunner power pop (and most other
musics) altogether.
I've gradually opened up to different sounds, first jazz, then pop, and now
my collection has many different styles and genres, and best of all, I'm
able to enjoy them just about equally!
Now that's the good thing. I didn't get burned or bored by prog, and I still
frequently buy both old and new bands!
