The next time you're in a Merseybeat mood --and you know you will be, sooner
or later-- you'd do well to investigate the CD by The Fore titled BLACK AND
WHITE.
Don't know anything about these guys, but they were almost certainly born
after this type of music was being played in Liverpool's Cavern Club, just
before the British Invasion of the U.S. Just goes to show that musical
genres that came into being since the advent of recording technology need
never die.
This CD (I got mine from Bruce B http://tinyurl.com/3kxxb2) is revivalist in
the best sense. There's not a shred of originality to it, but it's performed
with such love and energy that it SOUNDS new, if that makes any sense. And
if you liked this style the first time around, this record will remind you
why. I'll bet they kill as a live act.
