I'd be surprised if they did. A two-generation gap between the use of a band
name seems sufficient time to me.
It's just that the "original" Rascals (who themselves had to prepend "Young"
to their name to avoid trouble with an outfit known as Johnny Pulleo & The
Harmonica Rascals!) had a pretty high profile. As one of the earliest and
most successful white soul outfits (18 chart singles, several of them number
ones) they are a lot less obscure than, say, Nirvana (British freakbeaters)
or The Warlocks (later the Grateful Dead) who were also around near that
time and whose names were later appropriated by other acts.
Drew,
whose first 45 single purchase with his own money was "See" by The Rascals.
(They were no longer "Young" by then.)
