Oh, no doubt. "Cooler" yet was the nearly incredible yet true fact that it was easily possible to find promo copies of most all the releases from most all of these fine artists deep-discounted in used CD bins nationwide - in my experience from NYC to Nashville to Chicago to Kansas City to Albuquerque to San Francisco. Truly, an awesome display of marketing reach. "If you paid retail price, you paid too much!"
