Hi Everyone:

Return To Forever (circa "Light As A Feather") - the lineup at that time was Corea, Clark, White, and Bill Connors on guitar - opened for Argent (circa "In Deep") at my college. Needless to say, a terrific show! I got to do an interview with Rod Argent for one of the school newspapers - he was

The thing that I remember most was the fact that Stanley Clarke (the pride of Roxborough, PA - a suburb of Philly) had the longest fingers. The neck of his fretless bass looked like a toothpick in his hands!

A few years ago, after a Zombies show, I spoke to Rod about the RTF/Argent show - he actually remembered it. The reason was that Chick Corea told him a story that night about how when he had just begun playing with Miles Davis, he would need to have John McLaughlin stand by him on stage to tell him the key and chord changes of the songs they were doing - apparently Miles, tough nut that he was, couldn't be bothered.

Best,

Ray
