My wife is that rarity, a girl who really likes Zappa. Although her
position -- which I agree with totally -- is that the period of the
original Mothers and just slightly thereafter (pretty much everything
through HOT RATS) is all that's truly worthwhile. She lost interest
when his music became, as she once memorably put it, "nothing but
tasty licks and knob jokes."
