I know that it's an old biography, but I finally got around to reading
Motley Crue "The Dirt". I had no idea they were fans of the
Raspberries, Slade, the Sweet, and the Beatles (I knew they had covered
"Helter Skelter" but I that that was for the weirdness/violence factor).

yeah, i read that a few years back, and tho I am NO fan of theirs,
Nikki Sixx did play in a band with ex-Mott singer Nigel Benjamin, and
if you're like me, and I know at least Bruce Brodeen is one, those last
2 Mott lp's were WAY underated, so I'll give the Crue props for that at
least!!!!!!!!!
