Maybe I'm the last guy to know, but Tom Petty reformed his pre-Heartbreakers band, Mudcrutch.  They have an album coming out on the
29th and are doing a short tour.  There's a nice article in this morning's New York Times:

Based on the show I heard from last Monday -- a little bit country, a little bit rock'n'roll -- the album should be a good one...
