Sellers are allowed to charge whatever they want for shipping - a lot of
them use that to make up for the lower prices they charge for merchandise,
since Ebay doesn't take a cut of the postage. However, they are obligated to
list plainly their shipping costs - if you have a question, especially about
international shipping, you should always contact the seller before bidding
to get a shipping quote.
Ebay has lately descended into such suckage that I've moved all my stuff to
Amazon - I've had a much better experience there in the last two months.
