Thanks to Alec Palao's late lamented zine "Marshmallow War," I learned
of a mid-'60s San Francisco Bay Area band called the Canadian Fuzz.
They played wearing mounties uniforms. In a similar vein, in the early
'90s there were two Star Trek-themed surf bands in the Bay Area, the
Vulcaneers and No Kill I. Both played in full uniform; the latter also
featured a guy dressed as the Mugatu (a white gorilla suit with a horn
on the head).
Two of Flop's original names were the Value Village People and
Buttsweat and Tears.
And, for sheer career self-destruction, you can't beat Vomit Launch.
