I'll second Scott's love of Manifest. Having move to Charlotte from Chicago about 8 years ago, I was deathly afraid I wouldn't find the kinds of stores that I was accustomed to having at my fingertips. In the mid-90's, Clark and Broadway were just loaded with great stores.

But I'll put Manifest up against any store (barring the mighty Amoeba of course) I've shopped at. And as stores have either downsized or gone completely out of business, Manifest keeps on rolling. Great breadth and depth of selection of not only vinyl and CDs, but DVD, video games, t-shirts, and other pop culture types of novelties.

My first trip to Manifest scored me a used copy of Rainy Day on Rough Trade for $5. I've also picked up the last 2 Silver Sun CDs for $3 apiece.

I almost hate to say where.....no I don't because I want to see it stay open and even though they have slowly adapted into a pop culture store there are still tons and tons and tons of new CDs (although selection is not was it was ten years ago)a bunch of used and there's always a new influx. Charlotte, North Carolina, by the way. Come on down and let's trade! Anyway, the store's most recent buy was a ton of singles. And when I say ton, I am talking a couple thousand. The company (60 store chain) seems to buy out stores that are closing and send the bootie to Charlotte which is their best money-making store. On weekends the place looks like a supermarket. Very encouraging though I know eventually the market will give out. Did I say I loved the place?
