I've never felt the need to expand my Todd "collection" beyond my copy of
ANTHOLOGY 1968-1985. Granted, a few of those cuts are among the best pop
ballads of all time, but most later-period TR has not appealed to me.
Part of the reason are his sonics; I experience the "treble-toothache"
referred to by an earlier poster.
Another (completely unfair and indefensible) reason I find it tougher to
respect Rundgren? The way he was portrayed in Bebe Buell's autobiography! I
know, I know, but I've always had trouble separating the artist from the
human being creating the art. (Elvis Costello fans should also avoid that
book.)
