Todd has said that Crybaby was their attempt/takeoff/shot at Def Leppard.

Well, the hit off "Oblivion" was "Cry Baby" which was a great tune. "Love
With a Thinker" and "Itch In My Brain" bring back memories of cruising
around in my old Firebird (ah, youth...). Are you certain that Kasim Sultan
sang "Love With a Thinker"? It sounds just like Todd to me. "Maybe I Can
Change" is cool, too.
That's it...I've got to go back and listen to some of that stuff again.
I'm an '80s Todd and Utopia fan. The artsy-fartsy '70s Utopia is not a big
favorite of mine.

You are welcome ,sir. I am so glad to see a response on it ,because I have
always loved that song. I was looking for others ,but really enjoyed seeing
Todd's video , knowing how he was making his own.
Todd Rundgren is all about memories for me.I used to get each release as
they came out. I remember hearing "Hideaway" for the first time and just
being swept up in it. I just recently picked up a used cd pf "Ballad of Todd
Rundgren" and it is a pure delight to re-discover that one. "Be nice to me
" may be one of the prettiest rock ballads ever.
Speaking of "Oblivion? 2 Kasim sung songs ,"Love with a thinker" and "Maybe
I can change" are outstanding.
