Only somebody with Michael Carpenter's drive to excel would invite
public criticism on a new project and really mean it, as opposed to just
coyly fishing for compliments. So, in that spirit --and as someone who owns
almost all MC's recorded output, some of it signed at a rare LA gig in
2003-- I have to say I wasn't overly impressed with the "Can't Go Back"
clip. The song is great (as usual), but I don't think it gets the visuals it
deserves.

I found it too cutty, especially in the beginning before the audience can
get its bearings on who the "Michaels" are and what each is contributing.
Maybe let the song introduce itself first, then kick up the accelerated
cuts at the first chorus? And why hide the handsome mug behind the mic &
spit screen on the lead vocal coverage? And having to read off your own
lyric sheet? (Must be a boring song, if the writer can't remember the
words!) And there's not enough of the cute little girl. And given the song's
theme and references, I would have loved to see a song-ending "Beatles Bow"
from all the Michaels...but that may be too precious....hmmm...

I know, I know, way overthinking. I should shut up and make my own damn
videos...
