I've really enjoyed my time here at Audities. Unlike many of the regular
posters, I'm just a guy who likes records; I'm not in a band, I don't run a
label. And I've discovered some great records while I've been here, and
some great artists that I'm pretty sure I would not have stumbled upon
without this forum. What would life sound like without them? A little more
dour, a little less innocent, not quite so wistful and melencholy, and not
nearly as jangly.
Since nothing says Audities to me like a geeky list, below I leave you with
a list of artists I might well not have found if not for this listserv, all
of whom have made music that I truly love. I'm amazed, as I compile this
list, at just how long it is. And I was being discriminating.
Thanks everybody for playing. Truly. My world sounds different because of
you.
I'll catch you on the flip side. And never, never let anyone else tell you
what should sound good to your own freakin' ears.

*I would be remiss if I did not mention Davis Bash and the fabulous IPO.
All artists with an asterisk are ones I discovered by seeing them live at
IPO (which I discovered via Audities). Most I'd never heard of before; most
I got to meet when I asked them to sign the CD I bought at the show.
And of course, I bought most of these records at Not Lame.
