Is this one more bait? I'll bite. The same thing that would happen to the Pop, Rock, Country and every other category. I know many if not most of my rock and power pop faves would fail drug tests. Frankly, I'm thankful that Willie Nelson, Edith Piaf, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Byrds, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Nirvana etc, etc, etc were allowed to have music careers and not forced to pursue other professions. Do you feel drug use gave/gives other musicians an unfair advantage over you? I suppose speed and steroids improve one's guitar playing stamina on tour. And HGH probably helps one recover from stage diving injuries faster. I think there's also a gender bias in the media (and most of the general public) when it comes to celebrity train wrecks. People love to see girls gone wild. They love to ridicule and criticize them. How many headlines did you see about Heath Ledger's drug use while he was alive? I can't count how many male musicians I've met who were incredibly high at the time. And I count really well. For the most part, it's too much trouble for me to research the personal habits of musicians in choosing what to listen to. If a musician is a murderer/racist/child molester/wife abuser, I will stop supporting him/her with my dollars. But I'm not doing the same because of self-destructive behavior.
