Winehouse winning Best New Artist was the best moment of the whole
night.
The slow look of surprise that spread across her face, and then the
tears of joy that followed was just one of the most genuine moments
I've seen in ages. The hugs for her mum and dad were really quite
touching.

I can't understand the acrimony displayed toward this woman. Everyone
kvetches about the lack of authenticity in modern pop music, and
someone comes along with a great voice and a great look and she just
gets miles of stick. Make up your minds, kids.

Worst moment: The kabuki theatre version of "A Day In The Life." Good
God, that was awful.
Look, I love the Beatles as much as the next guy, but Christ, the
slavish boomer-centric devotion being showed them was just
ridiculous. As was the "Sir George Martin is pretty freaking old,
we'd better throw him a Grammy moment" that came during the award for
best soundtrack. If you're looking for fresh and original, the award
should have gone to Glenn Hansard and Marketa Irglova, not the 977th
straight cynical repackaging of The Beatles' back catalogue.
