The Figgs are the best live band there is. Consistent, enthusiastic but professional - kick-ass.
Never miss 'em.

FWIW I've seen FoW twice - once in 1999 in Santa Ana CA (cheers, WC), again in 2003 here in KC, plus I saw Chris Collingwood playing solo at Monsters of Pop in Nashville in 2000. I enjoyed all three shows, and though the band wasn't exactly 1958 Jerry Lee Lewis, I never got that phoned-in feeling. Collingwood solo was more engaging than you'd maybe expect, and one got a glimse at the self-deprecating nerdiness that I'd always suspected was at the heart of the seemingly condescending character studies that the haters always beat on. Collingwood might be the kid in the back of the class making fun of everybody, but he wasn't any easier on himself.

b.s. who saw Low open for Matthew Sweet way way back when...now that was disengaged, baby
