Hi Luke,
I sympathize with you.
My friends and I are convinced that the pre-sales are just a way for the promoters to unload lousy seats to gullible fans. Last year I bought tix for Tom Petty before the general public, and wound up on the side of the stage. Fool me once...
Here are the prices for the Van Morrison show next month in NYC: $304 - $254 - $154 - $104 - $79
You can also place bids via ticketmaster (minimum $660 for a pair) for some held-back seats.
Here is my answer to this madness - my last three events
Tom Clark at Arlene's Grocery $7
The Brixton Riot at Arlene's Grocery $10
Beach Boys Cover Band at Waikiki Wally's - free
The guys from The Brixton Riot were so appreciative that I went to see them, I thought they were going to throw me a party. Local musicians, just starting out, but with a very audities-friendly sound. Plus, I got to stand near the stage.
See ya,
Sherman
