I've heard a number of options put forth (including my own) and think
they all have merit. But the two that seem most viable to me are:
* Sarah sets up a Google group
* The existing SOTT
My recommendation is that we go with the Sarah Google option and have a
board of moderators. I volunteer to be one of them and imagine there are
a number of other qualified folks here. The board would serve a
collective list-nannying function, although I doubt the need for
heavy-handed action would crop up very often. Yeah, arguments break out,
but they usually settle themselves through the good sense of the
community. The main reason for a board is to make sure that you don't
have one person getting overrun.
So this is the recommendation of a guy who's been running and moderating
big lists and other kinds of forums since 1993. Rather than string it
out, forcing Michael to keep the doors open past closing time, I'd say
we get it done sooner rather than later.
Some good names - let's pick one and move on.

/"...it's a lonesome thing to be passing small towns with the lights
shining sideways when the night is down, or going in strange places with
a dog nosing before you and a dog nosing behind, or drawn to the cities
where you'd hear a voice kissing and talking deep love in every shadow
of the ditch, and you passing on with an empty, hungry stomach failing
from your heart." /
