Back in my music retail days [I am a 27 year veteran] I remember getting each Wackers release from my Elektra rep. There was a buzz about this band and it was well deserved.I enjoyed all three ,especially "Wackering Heights" . I remember buying "Gotta have Pop" as an import and loving it .That title cut was an anthem of mine. There was always a thrill to finding new music.
I experienced that same thrill when I first saw Nicole Atkins on Letterman.I e-mailed the group the next day.I also get that thrill when I try a new artist after reading one of the cool lists the members post here.I have discovered so many great releases because of this group.Stewart turned me on to Sylvie Lewis. That's just one example. I have no problem with members selling cd's. That is how I got the first Trolleyvox, which was the best deal I made all year.
The fact is,music has never been never been better. It is still as exciting to find new artists as always. And the good folks at Audities know this all too well. Spread the musical wealth.
