Liam Finn's solo record has finally been released in the US this month on YepRoc. The apple doesn't fall too far from the family tree but he still creates his own sound. I've been listening to a few tunes on MySpace until I can spend the money : http://www.myspace.com/theliamfinn
If you're looking for "psychedelic,
drone-inspired folk rock" (the description from their bio), check out The See See. The band consists of members from Soledad Brothers, Waxwings, and Eighteenth Day of May. Their site is : http://www.myspace.com/theseeseeband.
A friend of mine in Austin who usually plays country/rockabilly tunes is now also part of a new psych/garage band, The Teen Sensations. The band has posted a few demos online that are sounding pretty good : http://www.myspace.com/theteensensations
A member from my favorite local band, The Ugly Beats, has started a power pop trio called Ripe. It's pure pop, no doubt about it : http://www.myspace.com/ripemusicatx
I'll leave the list making and squabbling to rest of y'all ;-).
For the other 2 members of Audities who like Tammany Hall Machine, they're going on indefinite hiatus and playing what is being billed as their farewell gig this Sat (sort of, they're still playing a showcase for SXSW).
Cheers,
Jennifer
